A message from the President……..
It has been brought to the attention of this association of the behaviour of players, coaches and spectators to umpires. Abuse, swearing, taughting, belittling and interjecting of umpires will not be tolerated. Please refer to Netball Queensland players’ code of conduct of your personal behaviour requirements.

We as an association will no longer tolerate this behaviour; all umpires have the right to remove any player after a warning of any unruly behaviour to another player or to themselves and have the right to seek help from the club house if problems persist. Further action will now be taken on reoccurring offenders leading to suspensions including coaches, parents, spectators and players.

Our goal as an association is to have a fun safe environment for all people involved. And the only way we can complete this goal is to work together, help each other and be respectful of each other.

Net Set Go

This 10 week program teaches basic netball skills in a fun way. There was 20 youngsters giving netball a go for the first time and they all really enjoyed it. Thank you to all who participated in the program, we hope that you continue on with your netball next year! Big thank you goes out to Danielle Fox for coaching our Net Set Go netballers this year. This program is will run again next year.

Rep Convenor Update

State Age wrap up.....

Gladstone's Representative teams have all had another huge year with our older girls having returned from the State Age Championships on the Gold Coast all finishing in the top five of their respective divisions. We sent three teams to the championships, with the 13 years finishing fifth in Division two, 14 years finishing third in Division four and the 15 years finishing fourth in Division three. The girls were very close to finishing a couple of places higher with some games going down to the wire with us losing in the final seconds. Lady Luck was not on our side at times :) All our girls performed well under the pressure of state competition. The months of training and preparation leading into State Age certainly paid off - we couldn't be prouder of their efforts.

Challenge Carnival….

Our 12 years girls travelled to Caboolture for the Challenge Carnival last weekend, this is the first rep carnival for our young athletes and I'm really excited to see them bring everything together that they've learnt under coach Dan. Only one team went to the Carnival, with the 12 years finishing eighth in Division five. Great effort girls!

You would have all received your invitation to our Rep Dinner on the 1st August at the Tannum Surf Club. This is an exciting night for the girls with awards and presentations to celebrate their achievements. So please get your families together and come celebrate with your teams - it's sure to be a great night! Don’t forget to R.S.V.P. by 27th July.

Finally, I must acknowledge our sponsors for this year. Qantaslink and Cooper McKenzie Marketing have come on board for the second year running and we thank them for their ongoing support. We were also very fortunate to have Chris and Petrina Zagami of Reef City Motors partner with us this year as our naming sponsor. Their financial support and ongoing support of Gladstone Netball enables our girls to travel to these state carnivals where they gain the experience they need to develop their skills and reach their goals. So, make sure you support those who support us!

Physio at the Netball Courts….

Active Physio will be at GNA on a Tuesday evening, each fortnight times will alternate.

These consult sessions are for 10 minutes only.

Please email gnapublicity@hotmail.com before 12 noon Monday if you would like to book in for a 10 min session on Tuesday, this will be on a first in best dressed basis. Please email me you name, preferred time and injury. These consults will be at no charge (normally $100). The physio will give advice on ongoing treatment with Active Physio. The benefits for the girls are that the physio will be able to report back to their coaches in writing about a suggested amended training schedule if required. They'll also be able to liaise with other coaches from other sports if the girls do any.

Gladstone Netball Association is on Facebook – the best way to stay up to date with all the info!

+ Umpires - must sign the 'sign on sheet' prior to the commencement of a game. A fee of $50 will be charged for those that don't.

+ Score sheets - please ensure that all players sign the score sheet and that the score is filled in.

+We would still really appreciate a volunteer to fill in as Senior Games Convenor for the seniors time slot. All that is required is for a person to be available at the desk for about 1 - 1/2 hours from 7pm. It's an easy role ideal for someone that is not a player and is at the courts every week at this time slot, as the Games Convenor does all the hard work.

+We are still chasing a Canteen Coordinator; the GNA committee are doing an awesome job running the canteen but would really appreciate someone that would take on this role. If we don’t get a Canteen Coordinator the players fees will increase for 2016.

- Umpiring Clinic – 26th July 2015 – don’t forget to register

- Rep Dinner – 1st August 2015 – don’t forget to RSVP

- Nippers last game 11th August 2015

- 1st Semi-Final – 18th August 2015

- 2nd Semi-Final – 25th August 2015

- Grand Final – 1st September 2015
