Games for finals will not be run off the buzzer, each court
will be having their own timers to allow for injury times if necessary. This
requires a person from each team to score and time their game on court. Both
the scorer and the timer and required to sit/stand next to each other.
How the timers will
work:
·
One timer
will be used as the game clock, with the other being on standby for injury
time. The injury time clock is to be set at 2 minutes.
·
Junior and Cadet games have 10 minute quarters with a 2 minute
break at ¼ and ¾ time, and 3 minutes at half time.
·
Seniors are 12 minute quarters with a 2 minute break at ¼ and ¾
time, and 3 minutes at half time.
·
Timers are
to tell the umpires when there is 30 seconds left and again at 10 seconds at
each break to get teams back on the court.
·
When a
quarter has finished, the SAME timer is used to time the quarter breaks. This
requires the timer to be immediately reset to the appropriate time (2 or 3
minutes) at the break and then back to the quarter length.
·
INJURY
TIME –
Ø Each team is allowed one injury time per
quarter, if a player calls time after their team has already had injury time
for that quarter, they have to leave the court immediately, no coaching is
allowed to take place at this time.
Ø If a player calls time, the timer for that
quarter is paused and the injury timer starts. At the end of the two minutes
the player must take their position or leave the court.
·
BLOOD TIME
OUT –
Ø If an umpire calls timeout for blood, the clock
is just paused. The 2 minute injury clock is not applicable.
·
DRAW –
Ø If, at the end the game is tied, teams will
play 2x5 minute halves with a 1 minute half time. Injury and blood time rules
still apply.
Ø If the game is still a draw at the end of the
10 minutes, teams will play until one team has a two goal
advantage.
